First of all: we wish all a happy and diligent Santa Claus and a wonderful 2nd Advent.

For a long time it was quiet here and actually it was no secret: the next trip will take us to Africa – more precisely to East Africa. The plans are getting more and more concrete, visas are booked, accommodations, tours and rental cars are spied out. Slowly it becomes clear that this will be the most expensive vacation we have ever experienced.

At the moment the itinerary (if everything still works out) looks like this:

Uganda:

So far we have booked a mountain gorilla and chimpanzee trekking in our arrival country with a few other highlights.

Kenya:

With the rental car on self-drive safari …

Tanzania:

Here we will try – as fit as we are – to climb Kilimanjaro. Afterwards, there will hopefully be time for Zanzibar and Mafia Island.

We really hope that everything works out, because yesterday we received – ONE week before our trip starts – the message from our travel provider completely abruptly that it does not work out with our flights. According to the “very friendly and absolutely the German language powerful” service employee would have the airline allegedly “completed” the flight. Whether he means canceled, we could not really find out yet because the flight according to the airline still takes place as planned. We are pissed off – we better not name names and companies here and are now trying – of course probably completely overpriced – to organize replacement flights.

The excitement continues …
