Our last hours in Uganda began with a drive to Entebbe to have another Covid test done. After the test we went to our last accommodation. Here we had one more night to relax a bit and prepare for departure – some laundry and such. Hamza led us again through the neighborhood and to the shore of Lake Victoria. Again he had a lot to tell and Mel took the opportunity to buy cigarettes (3500 Ugandan Shillings per pack … about 80 cents). The next day we went to the airport and there we had to say goodbye – the men seemed to find this especially difficult. Hamza had to say goodbye to his “Silverback” and Andreas to his “Brother from another mother”. Check-in and co. were a bit chaotic and the staff at the airport seemed a bit incompetent – everybody told something different. In the end, however, we were on the right plane.

If you ever plan a trip to Uganda, you should contact http://www.mamalandsafaris.com and ask for Hamza – it’s definitely worth it!
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all relatives, acquaintances, friends, colleagues and loved ones a Merry Christmas. See you soon.
